Ben Hanscom will forever go down as the new kid on the block, but in reality he played an important role as the strong foundation of The Losers Club, the seven kids in Derry, Maine who battle the ancient evil entity It (also known as Pennywise). In this video I'll be going through the entire chronological life of Ben Hanscom, including the time he spent transitioning from childhood to adulthood, and doing a complete breakdown and character analysis.

This will cover the entire history of Ben from his birth to his last known actions in Stephen King's work. Please note that this will only analyse Richie as he is in the book. I will show clips from the movies as a visual aid, but for the purposes of Horror History, the books are canon.

I'll be explaining how Ben's past caused him to become overweight, how he got his nickname "Haystack", the importance he had to the Losers Club, how he realized their greatest weapon against It before any of the others and the secret meaning hidden in his poem to Beverly and what it represents.
