Anglo-Kiwi Expedition to Denali, Alaska 2017 - Part 1

The first half of our ultimately unsuccessful attempt on Denali in May 2017. Greg, Richard and myself went with Alpine Ascents International in a year when summit success rates were very low (only 34% when we came off the mountain, rising to 42% by the end of the season). Weather and attrition were the main culprits. This part includes the generally grim first 10 days or so before the weather finally improved. It takes us from Talkeetna and the fly in to Base camp, through Camps 1 and 2 up to 11,000ft with various events along the way.
