Tyson Fury's home town may have been "on the ropes" 20 years ago but this Lancashire resort is now firmly on the comeback trail. Take a walk along the promenade, looking out over the Bay towards the mountains of the Lake District, and you'll fall for Morecambe's charms. The renovated Art Deco Midland Hotel anchors the recent rejuvenation of the townscape along with the magnificent Winter Gardens, saved from demolition by volunteers. Street art abounds, with iconic sculptures (don't miss Eric Morecambe) and stunning wall murals showing off the creative talent in and around the town. The future could be even more exciting as Eden Project North gets ever closer to breaking ground. Councillor Caroline Jackson explains more about the plans and the beneficial impact that the Eden Project has already had on the local community.
