Cookies for our Hosts at Oxford Ranch, TX, USA

The weekend before Christmas, Bob Outdoors and I camped at Oxford Ranch in Llano Texas, USA. It was awesome to watch nature up-close and personal while baking cookies in a cardboard oven. The cookies were so good, we gave a dozen to our hosts. Oxford Ranch is a wonderful place to visit.

Cardboard Oven:

21 x 51 inches corrugated cardboard
18 inch diameter corrugated cardboard circle; cut a 6 inch diameter
hole in center as an observation window
16 inch diameter metal pizza pan to form the base of the oven
12 inch diameter metal fire bole is plase on the pizza pan base
5 22 inch sttel rods, made from clothes hangers form a grate to
hold the cooking surface
23 inch diameter pizza pan is the cooking surface

Glue heavy duty aluminum foil to the corrugated cardboard with contact cement or white glue. Let the glue dry thoroughly before using the oven. Punch holes at in the oven walls for the grate that holds the cooking surface. Experiment on the location of the grate. The ideal location will depend on heat source. In this video I used commercially purchased charcoal.
