OCD : Mental Health Matters // Vanessa Baier's Story

At just 16 years old, Vanessa Baier shares her story of her 9 year journey living with OCD in hopes to bring awareness to other who might be battling this disorder. Her first fear started at the age of 7 years old and when she began to obsess over becoming sick. She would avoid certain things that in her mind she was convinced would cause sickness.

“What is different between you and me when I get a though it gets stuck in this net but when you have a thought it goes right through the net.”

She explains the process of ERP in therapy that she went through to bring her out of many of her OCD fears and how to process them correctly. The stories we have shared in this series all discuss this form of therapy and how crucial and life changing it is for so many who have OCD. We hope these stories bring light to those who feel that they are living in the weight and darkness of OCD. There is hope in this disorder.
