Correia Chestnut Farm Harvest Tour

Our 2019 harvest of our Italian marroni varieties of chestnuts is well over half complete. We are continuing to harvest chestnuts each day as they become mature and drop from our trees. Here we give a glimpse on how chestnuts grow on our trees, encased in a very prickly husk called a bur. Some chestnuts do not drop on their own so we need to give them some encouragement with some gentle taps with a bamboo pole.

After chestnuts are gathered they are promptly sorted, washed, and refrigerated to keep them fresh until shipped to our customers.
