False suspicion | Truck driver not to blame for fatal accident

When two people are killed in a serious accident on the A 2 near Dortmund in the summer of 2021, a major German tabloid suspects the truck driver. He might have been distracted by his cell phone. This almost threw professional driver Michael Seelen off track. Because he is completely innocent.

eurotransportTV has looked into the case in detail and, above all, talked to the driver himself. He reports how much this hastily expressed suspicion has burdened him. He does not understand why the newspaper - without knowing the real reasons - names him as the possible cause of the accident.

In the meantime, six months after the tragic event, Michael Seelen's innocence has been established. An accident analyst from the expert organization DEKRA has determined that an SUV that had hit the truck from behind caused the accident. Consequently, the public prosecutor's office dropped the case of involuntary manslaughter against Michael Seelen. The story shows how quickly people can come under false suspicion simply by not waiting until the investigation is complete.
