Tour de France 2002 - stage 17 - Aime to Cluses, 142 km.
The last big mountain stage. Carlos Sastre again gave a strong performance, and showed that he was a man for the future. He and Laurent Jalabert worked together to secure the polka dot mountains jersey for Jalabert, who were getting tirred.

Dario Frigo, Guiseppe Guerini & Mario Aerts was in the main breakaway of the day. The three of them had to fight for the stage win.
Lance Armstrong stayed secure in the peloton.
