Dorian Gm-Em Backing Track, And Target Note Practice Tips.

Backing track starts at1:30.
This backing track is a great way to practice improvising melodically over chord changes, four bars of Em followed by four bars of Gm in 7/4 time.. In the diagrams E Dorian mode is blue and G Dorian mode is orange, notes shared by both modes are half and half.

You will see some notes are not in both scales, these are the notes to aim for on the chord changes, see which notes you prefer on the changes and remember them.

This sort of improvising when you follow chord changes instead of sticking to one scale takes practice, just ask John Coltrane(ok, you can`t but he did practice a lot!).

Try to play through the backing track everyday for a week and see how you have improved at following the chord changes in a musical way, it is an important skill to develop.

If this helps please sub and like.

Have fun.
