Alberta Premier Danielle Smith discusses health-care meeting with PM, premiers – February 9, 2023

Alberta Premier Danielle Smith holds a news conference in Calgary to discuss her meetings with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and her fellow premiers earlier in the week.
Canada's first ministers convened in Ottawa on February 7 in an effort to reach a federal-provincial agreement on health-care funding. Premier Smith also met with the prime minister individually. She affirms her government will use any money offered to the province through the bilateral funding offer to accelerate its strategy to reform its health-care system. The premier responds to questions from reporters on the plan to give tax breaks to oil and gas companies to clean up old well sites and on the trial of Artur Pawlowski, the Calgary pastor charged in the Coutts, Alberta border blockade. She also comments on recent security issues on public transit in Calgary and Edmonton.
