SUPER HEAVY container rollover

SUPER HEAVY container rollover! Got to love when containers tell you they're super heavy with a big SUPER HEAVY display on them. Nonetheless, Dave and I are always up to the task and tag teamed this in our rotators. He brought unit 55, a 2014 Peterbilt 40ton rotator while I responded in Hulk, my 50ton rotator.

Luckily no overhead power lines on this one, but that doesn't mean it was easy. The container landed on the base of a very expensive generator and the owner was already on scene very upset. We had to do this so it came up perfect without further damaging the base, the railing it was on or the building it was inches away from.

I used my new Bailey's grommet slings for the container holes, and from there Dave and I brought it at the perfect angle so it wouldn't cause any more damage to the building or the landing gear. The landing gear are easy to bend in this situation since most people just "pull" these over. The trick is to have a ton of height and reach so you start out with your line of action over the center, so when you winch in, it brings it up straight while also to you at the same time. Then from there you can play with the cables to even it out.

Once upright, the fun was barely getting started. The horribly shifted load made it unsafe to transport, and the loading facility would only off load if I agreed to stay behind for safety. Dave took off at this point while I supported the side of the container so it could safely be off loaded. I was starving so I jumped in to help and expedite the offload so I could leave, and everyone left happy. Yes the container rolled over, but I consider it happy when there are 0 injuries.
