Pneumatic Trailer Landing Gear Cracks Asphalt, Almost Rolls Over! Landing gears and weak asphalt, name a better combo LOL. While we get tons of rollovers, jobs like this one is what really keeps us busy. This particular one I like because it shows off the versatility and advantages of a rotator vs a wrecker.

This yard is pretty small, so impossible for a wrecker to back up to the front perpendicular. Being able to park parallel next to the trailer while almost touching the wall, then working it all off the side is such a huge benefit. Then once it's in the air, the tractor can safely back up underneath.

From there, they can either move the trailer around or keep the tractor under it so they can safely work on fixing the landing gear. When people see containers rolled over in an empty yard, they often ask "how did they manage to flip that?" and this is one of the most common reasons. Once the ground gives way enough, the landing gear which is the only thing supporting the container will go through and cause the entire thing to flip.

Luckily this job was just a basic lift before it got to that point, but it's always a concern and time is always of the essence. Quick and easy video, hope you guys enjoyed this one!
