Chronic Pelvic Pain | Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine

Dr. Rebecca Aronson discusses chronic pelvic pain syndrome and how it can be treated at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine.

At Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine, our pelvic pain specialists provide a functional, rehab approach to pelvic pain. When you visit one of our offices, you spend an hour with your doctor reviewing in detail your medical history and symptoms. Then, we perform an internal exam (no speculum) to evaluate your nerves and muscles. Together, we'll discuss an individual treatment plan that gets to the root cause of your pain and helps you to feel better. The best part: you can begin treatment the same day!

At PRM, our mission is to decrease the time patients are suffering from pelvic pain symptoms.

Chronic pelvic pain can affect more than 300 million adults worldwide, including both men and women. Symptoms are considered chronic when they last for more than six months. It can originate from the bowel, the bladder, or the reproductive organs such as the ovaries and uterus in women and penis and scrotum in men. Symptoms can include pain with defecation, constipation, urinary urgency or frequency or perineal pain in both men and women. Risk factors include gynecologic disorders, such as endometriosis or fibroids, interstitial cystitis or chronic prostatitis, or musculoskeletal conditions including hip labral tears or lumbar radiculopathy.

Here at Pelvic Rehabilitation Medicine we pride ourselves in seeing patients who've had symptoms that haven't been able to be addressed for a long time, even after having seen multiple practitioners. We pride ourselves in listening to our patients and validate their symptoms after they've sought medical attention and haven't been able to find relief. It's rewarding to work with the team of staff here that focus our attention on treating chronic pelvic pain. And our goal is to improve your quality of life, if not resolve your symptoms.
