The Ghosts of Tudor Queens

Many Tudor Queens Haunt numerous locations throughout England, the most famous being Hampton Court Palace, Windsor Castle and the Tower of London where many of their lives were taken. Becoming a Queen of England during the Tudor period never meant you were safe from execution or death, for many women becoming a Tudor Queen is exactly what led to their deaths.

Anne Boleyn’s ghost has reportedly been seen many places, the most common is the Tower of London where her life was taken, Windsor and Hever castle, her childhood home. Anne’s ghost can be reportedly seen on the anniversary of her death, witnesses say she appears holding her own head, other encounters say Anne is more of a white light figure.

Jane Seymour is sometimes seen but is considered to be a more gentle spirit, Jane reportedly appears as a white light figure near the staircase of the room where she died after childbirth. Jane birthed the son an heir that Henry VIII so longed for and it cost her life.

Catherine Howard’s ghost can reportedly be seen running down the long corridor at Hampton Court Palace which is now nicked named the “haunted gallery” this would have been the same path Catherine would have ran in hopes to see Henry and save her life. Catherine was ultimately executed in February of 1542 and her ghost can still be seen running down the haunted gallery attempting to beg for her life. Catherine is also referred to as the “screaming queen”.

Lady Jane Grey, the nine days’ Queen was executed at the Tower of London, Jane’s ghost has been reportedly seen at the tower mostly on the anniversary of her death, it’s reported that Jane’s ghost appears as a white silhouette and gives off the feeling sorrow to those that see her.
