'Flow-on effect' of a 5.1 per cent minimum wage increase

Sky News host Paul Murray says there has been a "flow-on effect” after the Labor Party "backed in the union movement" to increase the minimum wage by 5.1 per cent.

“Unions now, in the sectors that aren’t covered by the minimum wage are now trying to put forward a six per cent claim in industries that don’t pay the minimum wage,” he said.

He said business groups, in response, have said "locking in a wage increase of six per cent a year is going to fuel inflation".
