Cavalcade Cocktails #3: Gin Rickey

Another classic cocktail from the 1934 "Burke's Cocktail and Drinking Recipes" book. The Gin Rickey is a nice cocktail for summer, featuring a pronounced lime flavor.

In a large glass, add
2 oz gin
juice of one lime
ice

Stir -then add 8oz of carbonated water/seltzer. Serve with ice in tall glass.

Maybe limes were much smaller in 1934, but this drink recipe called for the juice of an entire lime - which was too much, in my opinion. Bringing the lime juice down to about an ounce created a more balanced flavor.
