Red Dirt - HIGHLIGHTS

Scott Kikkawa broke out with his acclaimed first noir novel, Kona Winds, set in 1953 Honolulu, when the Big Five controlled the Territory. Red Dirt (Bamboo Ridge #120) has a backdrop this time of the 1951 “Hawai‘i Seven” trials, when Cold War fear fanned a Red Scare.

Author
Scott Kikkawa Sis a fourth generation Japanese American and native of Hawaii. He is a federal law enforcement officer who writes detective noir fiction set in postwar Honolulu. His debut novel, Kona Winds, was released by Bamboo Ridge Press in November 2019.

He’s been involved in book publishing for over 50 years in New York and Hawai‘i — as a New York Times Book Review editor, as a trade book editor, science newsletter publisher, literary agent, and map publisher. He and his wife, actor-director Eden Lee Murray live in Kahalu’u, ‘Oahu.
