2012 Dr. Thanisch Erben Muller-Burggraef Berncasteler Doctor Riesling Kabinett

Riesling is one of the most interesting wines in the world. There are a bunch of different styles. You could have a completely dry style with no residual sugar, or a rich dessert wine.
The Dr. Thanisch Berncasteler Doctor Kabinett Riesling is on the dryer side, but definitely has some sweetness. The best part of these wines is the age-ability. This is a 2012 vintage Riesling you can hold onto for the next 10 to 15 years!
On the palate you will find notes of bruised peach, apricot, meyer lemon, and a distinct note of minerality. There is also some savory notes of salted almonds from the little bit of bottle age. One thing that can't be denied is the level of acidity in this wine. Riesling keeps its balance by having extremely racy acidity which allows it to literally go with anything you eat. The best foods though are raw fish, cheese, and fatty meats.
This is an incredible wine and one of our favorites.
