So why do guys chase you for an extended period of time and then disappear? I noticed this question yesterday. This is something that happens often and it could be confusing if you're on the other side. A lot of things that men and women do make sense if you are that gender. We're all the same, the only difference is the role that we play.

The first reason is their intentions were just to get laid and they knew it. When guys want sex, they're willing to do just about anything for it. Literally.
The emotion of sex is a powerful one. It motivates people to do anything to get it.

The second reason may be because their intentions were to get laid and they didn’t know it. Sometimes a guy thinks he likes you but in reality he just wants sex. Why? Because the emotion that is produced out of sexual desire is very illusory and dangerous. It fools people into believing that they love each other but in reality, they're just lusting after them. This has happened to both men and women but this can be a reason why you're getting these mixed signals.

The third reason is you came on too fast. When you come on too fast, a guy will find it unattractive. He would have liked you but because you were needy, now he doesn't. Now he finds you unattractive and unappealing. Take a step back and give him some space. Let him think of you. Don't suffocate the poor guy.

Another reason is they thought you didn’t like them. When a guy disappears after showing interesting, it might be because he thought you liked him but you sent him signals that you weren't attracted. If you liked him, for next time, when you act disinterested, make sure to follow up with actual interest. This will offset the insecurity you instill by acting hot and cold.

The last reason is they got back with their exes or found someone. When someone gets back with an ex or finds someone new, he'll lose interest if he thinks he gained more than he lost.

A lot of times we use each other as sources of self-esteem whenever we feel a loss and they think they like you but in reality, they just feel the pain and are trying to escape the pain from being dumped. So what you have to realize is a lot of times, it's not because of you but because it’s just a simple circumstance.
