Cutting Goliath Grouper Fins for Research

Joined by my good friend @JoeyAntonelli we run into some hungry Goliath Grouper and it just so happens that Joey has his Grouper fin sample kit. This is a State funded program that allows him to cut small pieces of Goliath Grouper fins and store them. This ultimately leads to more research to be done on their genetics and population. Understanding these giant fish can help to determine whether they need to be protected or have special seasons for harvesting. What are your thoughts on the numbers and protection of Goliath Grouper?
