Grand Master Yoda managed to spend many years hidden away from the Empire, largely because his light side presence in the force was shrouded by the dark side force nexus present on Dagobah. But Count Dooku unwittingly helped Yoda escape capture. As seen in Tales of the Jedi, Dooku erased Kamino from the Jedi records to hide its existence. However, he also erased 35 other planets from the Jedi archives. This also included Dagobah but it is unclear as to why. It is speculated that Dooku and Yoda were the only two to know about the Force Nexus on this planet and that this was also Dooku’s escape plan, therefore inadvertently hiding the existence of Yoda during the time of the Empire.
