Who were the ones of mortis and where did they come from?
The ones of moriss are some of the most powerful characters we have seen on screen in Star Wars and one of the more mysterious characters from the Clone Wars TV. The Mortis Arc was one of the stranger and one of my favourite episodes from the clone wars and left many viewers with more questions than answers.

Today we will be discussing everything we know about the ones before the events of mortis as well as their bizarre and mysterious nature.

So the story of the son begins pretty much at the dawn of intelligent life within the galaxy. In legends, sentients appeared around a million years before the events of the clone wars. With the birth of intelligent life connected by the force, the dichotomy of the light and the dark also began to form.

Some accounts by the hive mind of the killks suggest that the son and his family of the ones sprung from a volcano around this time. Some believe that the ones were somehow related to the force itself and were embodyments of the force made physical. Others believe they were in fact part of the precursor celestial race who became so advanced that they became part of the force itself.

Regardless of which theory is correct, these powerful beings settled on an ancient jungle planet located in the maw where they loved in bliss and harmony. However, one day the son would be tempted by a dark side nexus of power, known as the font of power. This recreated him as the embodiment of the dark side, corrupting his very nature. His fall was soon followed by the rebirth of the daughter into the essence of the light side after she bathed in the pool of knowledge. The planet was ravaged by the constant warring between these two powerful beings and the father was forced to act as the balance between them
After many years of bickering and strife, a lowly servant girl came into service of the ones. Through her kind will and service, she stopped the constant warring between the son and the daughter and became highly trusted by the father. So trusted in fact that she became the honourary mother of the family. Under her guidance the son and the daughter woould together to rebuild their world and harmony was restored.

However the mother grew old and she could no longer control her two adopted children. Fearing that her family would abandon her as she entered old age, the mother bathed in the pool of knowledge and drank from the font of power. |zas

Now transformed into the hideous being known as abeloth, the mother used her powers to dominate the son and the daughter into submission. The ones would flee the planet, leaving abeloth behind, maddening her as her greatest fear came true.

The ones formed an uneasy alliance, using their power to take over the hive mind of the killiks to construct Centrepoint station and sinkhole station. Using the immense hyperspace tractorbeams of these stations, the ones moved blackholes to the maw, creating a prison for their former mother.

After this, the ones retreated into the strange timeless confines of mortis, only ever venturing out to imprison abeloth whenever she escaped from her prison world.

This cycle would continue for another hundred thousand years until the arrival of Anakin Skywalker. The events that transpired during the mortis arc saw the ones perish, bringing their rule over mortis to an end.
