Christmas Day Meditation (Luke 2:1-20)
What if our picture of Jesus' birth is all wrong? Some scholars think that Jesus was born not in a stable but in simple, peasant home and placed in the manger used to feed the animals that were brought in at night. Could it be that Luke wants to associate Jesus' birth with poor peasants along with shepherds who were considered uncouth outcasts by polite society?
