Since You Are a Child of God... from Luke 4:1-13

On a Sunday featuring a service of healing and wholeness, the story Jesus tempted by the devil provided a window to talk about human identity and call, and how misunderstanding such things can leave us broken and fragmented. When Jesus is tempted, the issue is not whether he is God's son, but how such a son will act, in other words issues of identity and call. (You can translate the devil's words, "Since you are the Son of God...") So what does it mean for us to live as fully human, children of God?
