Simple harmonic motion (SHM) is a sort of vibratory motion in which the acceleration of a vibrating particle is directly proportional to negative of displacement. In this lecture , one can learn how to establish the concept i.e., in SHM acceleration of the vibrating particle is directly proportional to negative of displacement.There are two practical cases included i.e., Vibrating mass attached to a spring and vibration of floating wooden block on water. It is proved for both the cases i.e., both are executing SHM.
