Bat in the Bedroom! and Little Kids React to a Little Door!

Our master plan is starting to pay off. We know that we can renovate a house that we will love, but it is infinitely rewarding seeing our kids explore their new rooms.

They got to spend a few minutes in the construction zone that is their bedrooms long enough to discover the small little door that connects their closets. Although not a perfect analogy, I've decided this is a Jack and Jill closet.

And no week would be complete without a major surprise - we found a bat in the third floor staircase. No big deal. But then after the kids and some friends got to admire the stationary bat, we got an up and close and personal introduction to our new friend... in our bedroom!

And there's a sneak peek of the built in bookshelf that takes the place of a hand rail around the staircase.
