• Her notebooks are locked in lead-lined boxes in Paris — visitors must sign a liability waiver and wear full protective gear just to see them
• Radium-226 has a 1,600-year half-life, meaning her notebooks won't even be half as radioactive as they are today until the year 3500
• She died July 4, 1934, of aplastic anemia — her bone marrow destroyed by decades of radiation she carried in her pockets and wore on her skin
