Trump Threatens Insurrection Act to End Minnesota Protests

President Donald Trump threatened to deploy US military forces to Minnesota to quell protests in response to violent encounters involving federal immigration agents.

Trump posted on social media that he will institute the Insurrection Act if Minnesota politicians don't stop protesters from attacking ICE agents, who are trying to do their job.

The Insurrection Act allows the president to use regular military troops on US soil for domestic law enforcement, and was last invoked during the 1992 riots in Los Angeles.
