The Rock is DEFINITELY a James Bond Movie

Sean Connery in The Rock is James Bond – and I can prove it. On the 25th anniversary of Michael Bay’s 1996 action classic The Rock, starring Sean Connery and Nicholas Cage, this video essay looks at the evidence in WAY too much detail to definitively prove once and for all that Sean Connery’s character in The Rock is James Bond 007.

This video essay doesn’t just look at the surface level similarities between The Rock/James Bond. It relies on information from all six of the Connery Eon Bond movies (Dr. No, From Russia With Love, Goldfinger, Thunderball, You Only Live Twice, Diamonds Are Forever) and from actual world history, as well as the backstory of Sean Connery’s The Rock character John Mason (who is 100% James Bond).
