Gage Amplifier From eBay: Does it Work?

I bought a Federal 230 Gage Amplifier with a lever gage head on eBay. Let's see what kind of shape it's in and try to get it running. It came originally with a mercury battery, but those have been banned for many years, so we'll need to build a new battery pack to get it running.
