ARMENIA LIFE: Surprising Yerevan Zoo and update on Sushma

We visit the Yerevan Zoo with Sushma and our 'adopted Armenian family'

It's actually very beautiful and thoughtfully laid out. Our adopted grandchildren, including Sushma, really enjoyed their time at this zoo.

It has an amusement park just before the entrance, which was a lot of fun for the children, including Sona tatik (aka Mrs Mitch).

Some of the exhibits are typical of older zoos, but there are some really nice modern enclosures for the larger animals.

What impressed us most was the abundance of large shady trees, which gave the zoo a really pleasant ambiance.

It's well worth a visit and only a short taxi ride from the city center.
