In this lesson we take a look at Bitwig Studio's compressor device. The goal of a compressor is to control or alter dynamics of a signal. Whether that's shaping the amplitude envelope of a single snare hit or an entire track compressor can be used in a myriad of ways. The typical use of compression is to restrict the dynamic range so that the entire compressed signal can be turned up.

I start by showing how you can apply your own "compression" aka dynamics control using the gain feature on an audio event... to actually throwing the compressor on some of our example tracks and going over all the useful parameters that are needed to shape the compressed sound.
