Queen to maintain 'never complain, never explain' stance following Oprah interview

The Queen would have been “blindsided” by claims a member of the royal household raised allegations of racism regarding the colour of baby Archie’s skin, says The Daily Telegraph Europe Correspondent Stephen Drill.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have made a series of bombshell claims during a tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, however, the talk show host has since clarified the Queen and Prince Philip were not behind the concerns raised over their grandson's skin colour.

Mr Drill said the ordeal was "like a game of Guess Who".

"We’ve knocked off two of the characters in the game, but you’ve still got Prince William and Prince Charles," he said.

He noted Prince Harry was not on the best terms with either Prince William or Prince Charles at present.

“This gets to the heart of what Prince Harry and Meghan feel was racism in their own family,” he said.

According to Mr Drill, the Queen would likely maintain her “never complain, never explain” stance in response to the contents of the interview.
