Abandoned and Isolated | Island Towns and Canneries | Boat Access Only | Destination Adventure

I think this might be my favourite video here so far in the Northwest. The plan was to finally get out on the ocean and see if I could find the old canneries, and get over my ocean fear from the Bella Coola Hot Spring disaster. The canneries were not difficult to find in the end, so I had some extra time to do some freestyle exploring and fishing. The fishing was less than successful, but the adventure that followed made up for it ten fold. The motor was running great so I put on some miles and explored the bays and channels for hours, until I stumbled across an old town. A couple of the houses were clearly being cared for, but most of the homes were abandoned and quickly becoming claimed once again into nature. I walked through the old town for about an hour, admiring the boats and relics sitting so picturesque in their retirement. This is my kind of adventure. To top all of that, I was invited to go out on a fishing charter with West Coast Renegade, and wow did they show me a good time. We saw some amazing scenery and they took me to some unbelievable fishing spots. We caught 11 Halibut, 3 Salmon, 19 keeper Dungeness crab and a large variety of Rock Fish. We kept what we could eat, and released the rest. What an amazing day. I cant even begin to describe the feeling of bringing a 40 pound Halibut up from 300 feet. Imaging a 300 pounder.
