Reviving a part from 1972---Large Machining

Love when these type of jobs come through the shop. Customer sent in a drawing from 1972 asking for a quote with no casting available and no model. I modeled and programmed the CNC work in Mastercam. Manual Turning on our large Poreba. Drawing was terrible but the job went smooth. More than half the material was removed. I'm more impressed that guys in the the 1900's made these parts without any fancy equipment. It's like reaching back in time and sweating on a part that wasn't sweat on for decades. I feel connected to the last guy that made this part. Call me weird if you must. I'm obsessed with machining and am thrilled that people like to watch my work.
