Riga to Sigulda | A Day Trip to the Forests of Latvia | In The Baltics E9

Deep in the Latvian forests of Gauja National Park is the town of Sigulda - sprawled across a winding river valley it is the perfect place to find old castles, prehistoric caves and quiet forest trails. You can see all of my videos from this trip here → http://bit.ly/InTheBaltics

There's plenty of modern innovations too including a bobsleigh track and a cable car that crosses the valley over 100 feet above the treeline.

Buses run daily from Riga and cost as little as 5 Euros for a return journey that takes about 70-80 minutes each way. It was awesome to get out of the city and explore some of Sigulda's picturesque trails. The place is set up perfectly for walking and it was great to spend some time in the natural world away from city life - I found it extremely peaceful and relaxing!
