sin verla ni escuchar sus órdenes.

Y sé yo muy bien en mi corazón
lo que hará mi hermosa señora
después de presentarme ante ella;
me juzgará como traidor con mucha razón,
ya que hace mucho tiempo que estoy

Y puesto que fue tan grande mi error
que le hice un mal descomunal,
si a mí su gran mesura no me ayuda,
me ha de juzgar traidor por eso,
ya que hace mucho tiempo que estoy

Si el juicio sucede de esta manera,
¡ay pobre de mí! ¿qué será de mí?

if God should take me back before her eyes,
for, by God, I have no way to defend me
so she won't judge me as traitor to herself,
for it's been so long that I have lived
with no word from her and not gone to see her.

And I know very well in my heart
what my lovely lady will do
once I'm before her: she'll judge me
a traitor to herself, with very good reason,

And since my error was so great
that I did her an extraordinary wrong,
if her deep kindness cannot save me
she shall then judge me a traitor to herself,

If the judgement should go that way,
Woe is me! What will become of me?
