🔻 The Triad of Womanhood 🔻Adelaide Marcus's Ritual Dance w/ Mother & Sister

This is rare and special footage. I am so grateful to have this powerful triad (my mother, my sister and me) on film. This footage (though somewhat recent) is timeless and ancestral. Can you feel this too?

The Queen in this video (aka my mother) honored the origins of "belly dance" by dancing through pregnancy and the ritual or birth.

My sister Leilainia Marcus and I had the unique experience of growing up where life truly was a stage (much of the time). The footage of her and I brought a smile to my heart! I can see the joy in our faces. I can see the sisterly rivalry in our swordplay. I see our bond in each movement.

Editing this short film is a tribute to our birth story and to our yeeears working together as "The Shimmy Sisters." We chose to keep the dance alive TOGETHER.

Through our triad I see 3 generations of womanhood. I see the strength of all women and more importantly the power of coming TOGETHER. Circle up sisters, mothers, maidens, and crones. We need each other right now. I need us 🙏
