I often get this question SHOULD YOU BUY A RUIN IN PORTUGAL. Everybody tells you different things, depending on their interpretation of the law. So I've done some research and tried to explain the ins and outs of buying a ruin in Portugal. However, a little disclaimer, I am not a lawyer, so this is the way it seems to me. If you do want to buy a ruin, make sure that you check with the camara or a lawyer, what you can or can't do.
