STORYLINE:
The parents of Israelis kidnapped by Gaza’s Hamas rulers held a press conference on Sunday night and pleaded for a meeting with the government to help find their children.

One father, who has two daughters who are still missing, described having to talk to them over the phone and comfort them during one of the Hamas attacks.

"I heard (while on the phone with his daughters) that they are talking Arabic, I've told them, lay down with your face to the ground with your faces one next to the other, hold your hands together, don't even breathe, stop your breathing. It was not easy, it was something like 30 minutes that I was with them on the phone," he told a press conference.

It is unclear where his daughters are now, but some of those missing were attending a music festival in Southern Israel.

Gaza’s Hamas rulers have kidnapped what the Israeli military has described as “a great number” of Israeli civilians and soldiers as part of a shocking, multi-pronged attack.

While Israel’s army has not released a specific number, Hamas officials say that dozens of Israelis are being held captive in undisclosed locations across the densely populated Gaza Strip.

In an assault of startling breadth Saturday, Hamas gunmen rolled into as many as 22 locations outside the Gaza Strip, including towns and other communities as far as 15 miles (24 kilometers) from the Gaza border.
