Im back in the UK and today Im unpacking some Zimbabwean food and the "miracle fruit" Snot apple, Uxakuxaku.

Uxakuxaku (Nbebele)  mutohwe (Shona) Azanza Garckeana , Snot apple (English)......Snot Apple, weird name right? 😅

In Nigeria its called Goron Tula and is well known for its potent aphrodisiac properties.It is also said that snot apple can help with diabetes, can help reduce blood sugar , high blood pressure, chest pains, coughs and fertility challenges. Ive been looking for some medical journals about it but haven't seen any yet.In southern Africa we just break a piece off, remove the seeds and chew it like gum then spit the pulp. In other parts of Africa the fruit is dried and turned into a powder which is used as tea or added in porridge. You can also also boil it and add it to your porridge.
