In September 2025, the US military began a shocking campaign in the Caribbean Sea: using drones and warplanes to destroy small fishing-style boats allegedly linked to drug trafficking from Venezuela. Over just a few months, more than 20 boats were bombed, killing at least 80+ people, all officially labeled as “narco-terrorists.”

But were these really only drug smugglers? Or did the US kill innocent fishermen, migrants, and regional traders? Venezuela and Latin American leaders called this a violation of international law and a new kind of “war by remote control.”
