Ten Metre Walks: Ep 11 - Woodland Thaw after snow in Ashton Court

Finally, 10m Walks returns. Approximately 57 people will be mildly pleased.

The snow struck Bristol one January morning so naturally I knew I had about 14 seconds until it had all disappeared again. I venture out to nearby Ashton Court to see the deer in the snow, luckily spotting some distant buzzards and foxes along the way.

Reluctantly I do a 10m walk after a long morning, and ramble about how hard it is to see wildlife.

Welcome to Ten Metre Walks, where I select 10m of anything anywhere and try to make it look swish on film!

The concept was born after I figured it would be a good exercise to try and make a video with restricted parameters. I thought it'd make a decent vlog topic where I could chat about the successes and failures of this process, and learn a bit about filming and nature along the way.

Parameters:
10m stretch of environment
1 hour
One camera, 3 lenses (now 4!), tripod.

Hopefully through these videos you see a progression in my filmmaking, storytelling, and ability to adapt to these conditions. Remember it is an exercise so the outcome is more often than not pretty rubbish - but we're all here to have a laugh and learn a thing or two.

Filmed on Panasonic Lumix GH5
Edited in FCPX
Filmed at Ashton Court, Bristol
