BYD remained the top player, logging over 59,000 registrations last week, down slightly from the week prior. Tesla registered 7,290 vehicles, down 29 percent, while Li Auto bucked the trend with a 33 percent surge to 11,400 units, likely boosted by pre-sales of its new Li L6 SUV and Mega MPV.

Nio recorded 5,100 registrations across all its brands—a 36 percent drop—led by 3,470 from its main Nio brand, 1,280 from its sub-brand Onvo, and 350 from its newest brand, Firefly, which just began deliveries on April 29. Xiaomi saw 5,690 registrations, down nearly 19 percent.

Other notable declines include Leapmotor at 6,230 units, Zeekr at 3,080, and Xpeng falling to 5,550. Aito, the Huawei-Seres joint venture, saw a modest decline to 6,680 units.

Overall, it was a slower week, with expected drops due to the holiday, but Li Auto clearly stood out with its upward momentum heading into May.
