AEM X Series AFR Gauge & LSU 4.9 Wideband Sensor Install How To | Supercharging an MX5 Miata Ep 08

Monitoring Air To Fuel Ratios (AFRs) from an engine is crucial for any DIY tuner. Accurate AFR readings give a great indication of how the engine is running at any given time - allowing you to tune to avoid excessively rich or lean conditions. This is especially important in boosted applications - such as turbocharging or supercharging - to avoid engine damage. In this episode I'll be installing the AEM AFR gauge into the MX5 and replacing the OEM narrowband sensor with a Bosch LSU4.9 wideband sensor. I'll then be wiring this setup to the ME221 ECU & calibrating it within the tuning software so the ECU receives an accurate AFR signal at all times. I am installing the AEM X Series but this guide will be applicable to a lot of other popular AFR Gauges such as the AEM UEGO, Innovate MTX-L or LC-2.
