‘Thursday' is the second mixtape by The Weeknd released on August 18, 2011. It follows his critically acclaimed, Polaris Music Prize-nominated debut mixtape ‘House of Balloons’. Like the previous mixtape the writing and production is primarily handled by The Weeknd, Doc McKinney and Illangelo. The project uses a sample of ‘Drugs In My Body’ by Thieves Like Us as well as ‘Sandpaper Kisses’ by Martina Topley-Bird and features a guest appearance by Drake on ‘The Zone’. On November 13, 2012, the full mixtape along with a new bonus track ‘Valerie’ was included on The Weeknd’s three-part compilation album 'Trilogy', composed of re-mixed and remastered versions of his three 2011 mixtapes. ‘Thursday’ received generally positive reviews; on Metacritic it has a user score of 8.4/10 and is tied with his most recent release ‘After Hours’ for his third highest metascore of 80/100.
