We Were There, March 15, 2016

NYC Department of Investigation World Trade Center Responder Vinnie G. shares his personal story of September 11th in his 9/11 Tribute Museum presentation of "We Were There" onstage at the National September 11th Memorial Museum.

Vinnie was Assistant Commissioner at the NYC Department of Investigation during 9/11. He worked a block and a half away from the WTC, and at the time of the attacks, became in charge of 600 investigators, police officers, and civilian staff. He talks about what he witnessed from his office that day, and the emotional toll that a decision to send 200 people to Ground Zero took on him when he realized just how dangerous it was at the site.
