Dog finally rescued after being trapped on a balcony for two days

Firefighters have rescued a dog trapped for two days from the balcony of a Sydney apartment building.

Elbie went missing on Saturday after squeezing her way past pot plants and through a narrow gap.

A neighbour flying a drone near the building spotted the two-year-old Jack Russell and raised the alarm.

Onlookers watched as crews winched their way down from the top of the building to the 13th floor to rescue the dog.

Elbie spent last night at the vet, where she was checked over and is expected to return home today.
