Lundi get's a taste of Khanyisa's milk.

Khanyisa (the orphaned albino elephant calf in our care) is progressing well with her gradual integration into the Jabulani elephant herd.

In our latest integration video update, you will see that Adine took the opportunity to allow Lundi (Khanyisa's adoptive mom) to taste the milk that Khanyisa was drinking from Herman. It must have proven to be quite tasty as she reached back for a further taste. Limpopo approached and tasted the milk from Lundi's mouth. Adine has already let Tokwe (the matriarch) taste the milk in a previous walk in the bush.

Khanyisa is feeling comfortable in the wild, in the protection of the herd. She has already learned so much from them and often looks to them for small signs of guidance. One of the clips shows how well she uses her foot to help loosen a small shrub in the ground, to assist her trunk's grip.

After a few hours, Khanyisa returned to the orphanage in the protective company of Lundi, who returned to the herd a short while later, to forage for the rest of the day. Khanyisa was greeted at the orphanage by Reply with lots of milk and love!
