Kanazawa - Best sushi, izakaya and coffee. Sakura! - Family Road Trip Across Japan, Episode 3

This is episode 3 of our epic road trip around Japan. In this video we visit a couple of Kanazawa's Historic Geisha districts, have some of the Kanazawa's best sushi, coffee and Izakaya food. Not all at the same time.

On the night we arrive in Kanazawa we have some of Kanazawa's finest sushi at Sushi Ippei.

The next morning, after coffee and toast at Blue Monday, Kanazawa's best coffee and toast, we go to Omicho Markets and Morimori Sushi Train for yet more sushi. Morimori is the best sushi train sushi we've ever had. Check out our plate tower of shame in the video. :)

After lunch we wandered down to the river and finally found some flowering sakura, cherry blossoms.

We visit two of the three historic geisha districts in Kanazawa - Kenzue-machi Chaya and Higashiyama Chaya where we snack on Soy Sauce Ice Cream. Yep, not soy flavoured - soy sauce.

We had dinner at Fuwari Izakaya - although I may have called it Fujiwara in the video. We had some of the best Izakaya food we've every had. Izakaya's serve tapas like small dishes in a relaxed informal setting... like a pub.

After dinner we were pelted with snow and rain so we ducked into Family Mart for some supplies.
